VBA Password

VBA stands for Visual Basic for Applications. VBA modules contain macros written in Visual Basic. VBA is an industry standard, it is used in many applications, particularly in MS Office. VBA modules can be protected with a password. VBA Password allows you to recover password-protected VBA modules embedded into any application such as a Word or Excel document or an MS Access database.

IMPORTANT: If the Word or Excel document is protected with a password to open, it should be unprotected first. VBA Password instantly recovers passwords if the VBA module was protected by an old MS Office application (prior to Office 2000). In Office 2000 the protection scheme was improved (note that Office 2002, 2003 use the same protection scheme), so brute force attack or dictionary search is required to find the password. This may take a lot of time if the password is long and complex. You can use Password Calculator to estimate recovery time. Fortunately it is possible to reset the password to a known one. This can be done instantly and you can open your VBA module immediately. However the original password will remain unknown.

VBA Password has two recovery engines: one is designed for Word, Excel and MS Access documents. It supports all Word and Excel versions and Access XP/2003. Another method is a universal recovery method that allows recovering password-protected VBA modules in any application. Universal recovery engine is quite tricky and not so easy to use. So, we recommend using the first engine if you have a password-protected Word, Excel or Access XP/2003 document; use Universal VBA Recovery only if it is necessary.
